Chiffon Animal Print High Waisted Mini Skirt

Holy cow! A hybrid between a Dalmatian and Friesian.

Can't tell if this skirt is vintage since there is no label. I bought this from the Op shop for $4 AUD.

The side gathered design and high waist sparked my interest even though it had a questionable animal print. Do I dare to wear this skirt to work?

It would look awesome with a black bodysuit, tights, booties. Too bad I don't have booties or a bodysuit so I'll let you use your imagination ;)

Pupa Diva's Lashes Maxi Volume Mascara

I remember walking down Bond St in London and noticing lots of girls with naturally curly thick eyelashes. So lusciously thick, they looked like black feathers.

I curse at my wispy sparse lashes. I also curse at not finding an affordable mascara that makes me look like the Bond (St) girls.

The only time I got close was when I got a free tube of Christian Dior's Diorshow and it's amazing. On permed lashes, they looked va-va-va-voom!

Sadly I can't afford Diorshow and after a few hours, it smudges. Have not found a mascara that gives the same volume and length until now.

I was at Kmart where all Pupa cosmetics were 50% off. Pupa is a cosmetic range from Italy. Their products are stylishly packaged and they have a gorgeous colour range.

Gave one of their mascaras a try and was majorly impressed with the results.

My lashes were so voluminous, there were practically bushy! Was surprised how well the huge brush (like Diorshow's) separated my lashes.

Unfortunately, the mascara had sold out so I left empty-handed.

However I was so infatuated, the next morning I made myself late for work just to buy the mascara from Priceline.

Not 50% off but still cheaper than Diorshow with even better results! This box set was $24.95 AUD which included a 50ml bottle of eye makeup remover.

Although I started to use the NYX Long Lash mascara, I'm ditching it because Pupa Diva's Lashes is so much better. The huge brush takes a little getting used to but now my lashes are FAT and they don't flake or smudge. Stays on all day until you take it off. Tempted to get my lashes permed now for maximum dolly-eyed effect!

Life's too short for bad mascara.

NYX Doll Eye Mascara - Volume and Long Lash

After reading rave reviews on Makeup Alley, I gave NYX Doll Eye Mascara a try. I bought both formulations, Volume and Long Lash for $7.95 USD each online.

Both looks exactly the same with the packaging and brush. As you can see in the picture, the brush is tapered and thicker at the ends.

Tried the Volume mascara first and I was'nt thrilled. It was a dry formula so I had to swipe quite a few times for any effect on my lashes. It did'nt give a noticeable lengthening or volumizing look. Towards the end of the day, tiny flakes would fall under my eyes. The only plus was that it did'nt clump.

The Long Lash formulation was definitely better. Again, it was a dry formula but after two coats, my lashes were noticeably fatter and longer. I can see the tiny fibers which build up the lashes. The product is very black so it made my lashes POP which is exactly the effect I'm after. It stayed on all day without flaking and does'nt clump as long as you apply no more than two thin coats.

While it's already good value for money, I would only buy the Long Lash again if it was on sale. It's not perfect as I've had better results with Diorshow. I'll keep looking for the perfect mascara!

Vintage Spotted Sun Dress

A magnificent find at the op shop, even if I say so myself!

I was pecking around for a colourful girly dress. It will be for an upcoming trip to Singapore where it's hot hot hot!

Narrowed it down to two dresses, one from Dotti and one vintage.

Put them side by side and examined for faults. Found a hole in the Dotti dress and was missing it's belt. The vintage dress looked like a hospital gown. Both went back on the rack.

Disheartened, I scoured the dresses one more time in case I overlooked any gems.

Lo and behold, I found a pretty sundress and best of all, it was vintage! Could'nt believe my luck. The dress is made of heavy duty cotton and is well constructed. It stood against the test of time, especially compared to the Dotti dress.

I could tell it was vintage by the pattern and fabric. It has an old skool silver zipper. It was smocked at the back.

You could imagine Charlotte from Sex And The City wearing it.

Very pleased to have found a vintage dress which was'nt grandma-esque for $3 AUD!

Target Velvet Military Cropped Jacket

No, this is'nt a well dressed chair. However I received a nice compliment while wearing the jacket.

A random woman told me she "loves it".

Screened for sarcasm and drunkenness (since I was in a bar) and it was clean. Don't do this normally but was surprised since the jacket only cost $2 AUD!

It's from Target and I wear it alot. Not only is it warm and soft, it's fitted and cropped which is suited for shorties like me.

Its girls size 12 so it was luck that I found it in the op shop and can fit in it too. What a great purchase.

NYC Nail Colour - Bo Peep

Dress code at work is mufti (casual) this week so it was the perfect time to break out the Bo Peep from NYC.

I'm loving creme colours on nails. They make a bolder statement on nails than frosts and shimmers, even if they are pale. Bo Peep is a bright fuchsia which really makes nails POP!

This NYC Nail Colour was purchased from the same bin as the Ulta3 nail polishes so cheap as chips-$2 AUD.

Not bad for wear. My manicure lasted for 5 days without noticeable chipping.
