"Le Sportsac"?

Remember this toiletry case which I bought for 50c?

I randomly found this picture of a Le Sportsac knockoff.

They must have come from the same factory in China!

Sussan Nail Polish - Soft Orchid

For a $2.95 AUD nail polish, this is'nt too bad! I bought it randomly reduced from $9.95 at Sussan, the clothing chain.

The nail polish a gorgeous purple lilac. This picture does'nt do it justice. Surprisingly it applied smoothly and dried fast. The soft grip handle was a helpful feature.

Sportsgirl also sells nail polish similar to Sussan's. I'll now keep an eye out for any funky colours on sale.

The accumulation of cheap nail polish continues...

Peacock Racerback Tank Top

I bought this loose tank top for $2 AUD at the Op Shop. According to the tag, it's made from 100% bamboo fibre. The fabric feels super soft and light, like cotton jersey.

It originally had a band at the hem but I removed it. So now the edge is raw because I don't know how to hem stretchy material.

Is'nt the print pretty? The peacock plumes are embellished with seed beads.

While I was waiting to pay, two women were trying to bargain with the volunteer shop assistant.

They wanted a rice cooker. The shop assistant said it was $7. They put a $5 note on the counter and said it was their final offer.

The shop assistant politely refused but the women persisted. I could'nt hold my tongue any longer.

"They will be plenty of people who would pay $7 for that rice cooker." I said reassuringly, but assertively too.

The women ignored me and pretended to walk away.

"People have been doing that to me all day." The shop assistant shook her head and put the rice cooker under the counter.

I encouraged her to stick to her guns. I knew the women really wanted the rice cooker and they were just being stingy.

For crying out loud, I know I'm stingy but I'd never bargain at an Op shop!

Thirty seconds later, the women finally caved in and forked out the extra $2.

Lancome, YSL, Scott Barnes, and Mason Pearson Haul

To qualify this post as "frugalicious", I've included items which are freebies.

Missy Em has been naughty as of late!

I've lemming-ed a Mason Pearson boar bristle hairbrush. Told myself to wait until I was back in UK first but I could'nt resist. Everyone talks about how lovely it makes their hair. It distributes natural hair oil from the roots and makes hair volumised, shiny and soft.

The smallest brush, which is child sized, is priced at $115 AUD from the department stores. I bought mine on Ebay for $63 AUD including shipping. There you go, money saved! ;)

While the hairbrush was in transit, I was getting bored and restless. Noticed that Scott Barnes was on sale on Strawberrynet. Since I've always wanted to try the makeup and it's exxxy in stores here, I succumbed to temptation.

Ordered a Scott Barnes blush palette, concealer compact and an Eye Ice (eyeshadow shimmer).

I was impressed with the slick packaging although the shimmer came in a chunky glass bottle. The neck is so narrow, I can't even dip my socket brush in there! I have to tap the contents out so it's messy.

My second gripe is that the colour Serpentine is EXACTLY the same as the NYX Pearl Mania in Walnut.

I much prefer the packaging of the NYX and it's a fraction of the cost of Eye Ice. Suspect they are identical products but simply rebranded. Goes to show how much you pay is pure markup.

The other Scott Barnes products are lovely. The blush comes in three colours, one is a bronzer. The concealer's creamy and soft, perfect for under the eyes.

All the other products you see above are freebies. I had a Lancome makeover at David Jones tonight and was given a Virtuose mascara and Hydra Zen Yeax eyecream sample.

Also picked up another freebie from the YSL counter, their new Singulier mascara. The claims are ambitious so I can't wait to try it!

Elle Would! Satin Jumpsuit

This strapless jumpsuit was 5 bucks at the op shop. I unpicked the belt straps because it was missing it's belt anyway and the jumpsuit did'nt need it.

Love the pink, white and navy print. The design is cute and it's actually a comfy piece of clothing. Kinda like wearing sleepwear!

It's a tad revealing so it's only suitable for when it gets really hot. (It was 30 degrees today and it's early September!) And so I don't look too skanky, I'll wear it with jewelled sandals and a denim vest. Now all I need is a denim vest...

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Freebie

I'm on a spending ban now as I've been very UN-frugalicious.

Two weeks ago I bought a pink Parlux 3500 hairdryer. This week I bought a Mason Pearson hairbrush from Ebay and makeup from Strawberrynet.

While my internet purchases are on the way, I got a kick out out of bringing home nice things without spending cash. Scored a free Chanel perfume sample and ribbon "bracelet" from Myer. (Which is pretty useless except I'm using the box to store jewellery.)

The perfume is Coco Mademoiselle and it smells heavenly. I'm no way eloquent when it comes to describing scents. Let's just say that it reminds me of Chanel Allure and Davidoff Cool Water!

Missha The Style Nail Polish - BL002 Tiffany Box Blue

This nail polish has been applied terribly but I wanted to post about this unreal colour. It looks like the blue on Tiffany jewellery boxes!

In natural daylight, the blue appears muted and pale.

I bought this for $3.90 AUD while I was bored during my lunchbreak.
