NYX Round Lipstick - Power #629

Bought another NYX Round Lipstick since I'm on a roll. So far I have five of these cheap thrills and will be collecting more.

I have a thing about finding the perfect "smear it on anytime, anywhere" nude lipstick. Otherwise I would'nt wear lipstick at all because bold colours are too high maintenance!

At first I thought Thalia was too pale and now Strawberry Milk is the new "too pale". I was hoping that Power would be the medium.

It applies as velvety and creamy as Thalia. More wearable than Strawberry Milk as it is a touch darker although not the perfect nude since it's overtly pink lilac. Word of warning: if Power was anymore blue toned, you could look like you have hypothermia!

Nuffnang Freebie Pack Arrives

My freebie box arrived today and look what's inside!

While I was'nt particularly enthralled with the tuna and beans, I was happy with the $10 AUD gift card from the Coles/Myer group.

Not a bad incentive to sign up to Nuffnang, bloggers! Read the details of the offer in my previous post here.

NYX Round Lipstick - Strawberry Milk #595

Was feeling depressed on the weekend so I bought a little something to pick me up.

Remember my post on Ulta3 Allure 2 nail polish? If you wanted a lipstick that looked like the one Wendy James was wearing in I Want Your Love, or one to match the nail colour, then NYX Strawberry Milk is for you.

The colour resembles strawberry milkshake. It is paler than my skintone and when I first tried it, I was disappointed. The lipstick was very pale. Looked like I painted my lips with white zinc! Oh well, nevermind since it was only $2 AUD.

I've seen pics of girls who can pull the colour off but I looked like a freaky clown! The lipstick was streaky which only emphasised my dry lips.

After reading reviews in Makeupalley, I learned that the trick was to apply on primed lips with a light hand.

So after I applied Vaseline on my lips, I softly dabbed the lipstick on and indeed it made a pleasing difference. My lips were a pretty pale pink and looked fuller than normal.

A smidge of Strawberry Milk is all that was needed. It lasts well and there was no problems with streaking when applied this way. Love the fun nude pink colour. This is definitely a lipstick which I can wear everyday!

Top End Slingbacks, Vicenza Wedges and Vintage Necklace

Please excuse these dodgy photos as I was too impatient to wait for daylight before taking them.

Summer's around the corner. Today I was melting in my beloved uggs so its time for warm weather shoes. Here is my latest op shop haul.

Top End Snakeskin Leather Heels $6 AUD - In pink nude and cream which goes with everything. I never had a chance to indulge in the nude heels trend until now! Unfortunately the straps keep slipping off my heels so I need Foot Petals and strappy strips.

Vicenza Red Slingback Wedges $4 AUD - comfy shoes made in Brazil and these were pristine. The leather is super soft calfskin.

Vintage Goldtone Necklace $5 AUD - Not usually a fan of wearing gold but when worn with a plain outfit, it blings the look tastefully. I like how unique it is :)

Regardless of whether you win or not, if you sign up to Nuffnang before the deadline, you will receive a FREEBIE pack from their sponsors, Coles Group & Myer Gift Cards, Redken, John West, Leggo’s, and Spring Valley.

I've seen pics of the pack (I have yet to receive mine) and it's a generous parcel full of goodies including a $10 Coles/Myer gift card!

I've sold out (even more so) because I've placed Nuffnang ads in this blog in the hope that I will earn a few extra pennies. If you have a blog, you can do this too!

Anyway if the freebie pack is incentive enough for you, by all means sign up to the website and please kindly mention that I send you! ;)

Charles & Keith Grey Satchel Handbag

I was in Singapore recently to attend a friend's wedding.

On my way back to Sydney, I decided to use up my Singaporean currency at Changi airport. Came across a Charles & Keith store and was impressed with their range of shoes and handbags. Their style mimics European designer fashion and their items are affordably priced.

Most of their handbags are made of a synthetic but believeable leather-like material resembling lambskin. It was actually a plus because I needed a bag which can take rough treatment!

This bag is the perfect size to carry everything around in with ease. Hope it gets slouchier with use. It was $56 SGD duty free.
